The Amsterdam Digital Transformation Lab (ADTL) is part of the Amsterdam Centre for Business Innovation at the University of Amsterdam (UvA). We aim to link currently isolated knowledge domains of business, technology, and policy and develop a timely understanding of the antecedents, process, and content of digital transformation and its intertwined industry convergence. We will provide rigorous and relevant input on digital transformation for education, business, and policy-making.

Collaboration with academia and practitioners

We envision a close collaboration with not only academics of different disciplines (e.g., technology, management, and policy), but also practitioners from various industries and sectors that are being subject to digital transformation. To do so, we focus, specifically, on digital platform ecosystems and the individual and collective influences of their members on the development, operations, and survival of the ecosystems. We attend to the innovative potentials of the technologies of efficiency into (cloud and fog computing), trust (blockchain and distributed ledgers) , and automation (AI and IoT) in our activities.

Impact

We connect the scientific community, business leaders, start-up eco-systems, technology centers, third party organizations, and policymakers who are interested in digital transformation. Our research, courses and workshops, and events, accelerate a responsible digital economy. As part of the Amsterdam Center for Business Innovation, the ADTL is well-equipped to examine how our society can harness the affordances of digital technologies effectively.
